Whether we feel shy, awkward, ill-equipped or unpersuaded to talk about Jesus in London today, many of us, deep down, wish we could be a bit better at it! We wish we were a bit more persuaded, a bit more excited and a bit more equipped for the task.

As we learn from the book of Jonah in our main sessions this year, we’ll see God take a very reluctant prophet and use him to speak to and save the great city of Nineveh! We won’t learn how great Jonah is; we’ll learn how great God is. We’ll learn to trust his awesome power, be amazed by his generous grace, fear his promised judgement and share his compassion for people.

Jonah will also teach us that the truth ‘salvation comes from the Lord’ (Jonah 2:9) is fulfilled wonderfully in Jesus. Christ rose from the grave in awesome power, bringing generous grace to objects of judgement because he so loves the world.

This is the wonderful gospel we believe and which the great city of London so desperately needs today.

And if God can use Jonah to turn Nineveh from their ‘evil ways’, and Jesus can use fishermen to witness to the world, what might he be able to do through you?

The highlight of REVIVE is our Big Top Sessions, where over 1,300 of us pile into the tent to listen to great teaching, raise our voices in praise and hear stories of how Christ has changed lives and saved lost souls in our city.

This year’s guest speakers will be talking to us from the book of Jonah – “Go to the Great City”

As well as our Big Top sessions in the morning and evening, there will be a great range of seminars and workshops by an excellent selection of speakers from Co-Mission and beyond. These give the chance to dig deeper into the theme of the weekend and think about living distinctively in London.

SESSION 1

4.15-5.00pm

Wisdom for Dating in the City

Matt Fuller & Liz Hayden

What does God think about dating?
What should I be looking for in a marriage partner?
What do I do when dating ends in disappointment?
You might think that since the Bible doesn’t mention dating God has nothing to say on the subject! In fact, the Bible is full of wisdom that we can apply to dating.

Doubt in the City

Andrew Sach

Elders Reboot : Partnership For The City

Richard Coekin

Presenting a biblical case for partnership such as we have in Co-Mission with a chance for feedback and discussion.

Adoption in the City

Andy Mason

Kids Concert

A time of worship music for kids

SESSION 2

5.30-6.15pm

Remaining in the City

Catherine Brooks & Pete Snow

Living in London can be a hassle. It’s expensive, noisy and impractical. There are always many good reasons to move out. And yet we long to see the city won for Christ. In this seminar we’ll be thinking about why Kingdom priorities might spur us on to remain in the city, and how the Lord’s faithfulness can help us to do so.

Identity in the City

Glynn Harrison

We live in a culture obsessed with identity. This shouldn’t surprise us because questions of identity lie at the heart of the human quest for meaning and purpose. But what is identity? Does today’s selfism provide the answers, or simply pose more questions? Could it actually be doing more harm than good? In this seminar, we will try to understand some of the cultural turbulence around us and ask whether Christians have a better story to tell. If so, what does that look like?

Parents And Teens In The City(Youth)

Jonty Allcock & Stephanie Parker

Youth (11 – 18) and Parents Seminar

Jonty Allcock (Senior Pastor of the Globe Church and leader on Contagious summer camps) and Stephanie Parker (Dundonald Church member and LDN worker) will help parents and teens talk about the challenges of growing up / raising young adults in 21st century London.

Generous For The City

Alex Lyell

It’s clear from scripture that what you do with your money is one of the most accurate indicators of where your heart is… way more than your singing or coming to church. Every financial decision we make (even buying plain rice) is a heart decision and a reflection on our attitude to God and the future. Jesus wants us to be entrepreneurial with our money with Eternity in mind. In this seminar we will discuss ways that we can use our money (whether we have very little or a lot) and our church’s money with entrepreneurial generosity as a beautiful goal. It’ll be theological and (hopefully very) practical!

Church Planting In Our City

Richard Perkins

We’re going to think about the importance of our city, the plight of our city and the solution for our city. We’ll consider the great city of London from a biblical perspective, from a sociological angle and finally as a mission field! And then, we’ll end up thinking about how a church planting network can together reach the city with the amazing news of the gospel. If you want to understand why we exist as Co-Mission, what we’re trying to do and how we’re trying to do it, then this is the seminar for you.
