Please join with us in praying for Cornerstone Church Kingston, led by Pete Woodcock…
Give thanks to God for:
- The outdoor service on 6 September where 270 of our church family – everyone who wanted to – gathered together to sing heartily, hear the Word taught and enjoy fellowship. We are so thankful to God for enabling this to happen, for perfect weather, for the generosity of the owner of the field and the access to it, and for the wonderful spirit of reunion it engendered to encourage us after six months apart. Please pray that we would be able to repeat this in the coming months.
- Our building, ‘The Hub’. We have always been immensely thankful to God for the gift of the Hub but never more so than now as it enables us to meet for four live services each week. We thank God that this means that everyone who wishes to can come along. We’re thankful for our children’s and youth workers being willing to adapt teaching in order that the young people can meet again. We have been especially encouraged that, right from the first week, we have had a good handful of visitors each Sunday and people returning. Please pray that, despite the distractions that organising each meeting has, everyone would listen wholeheartedly and expectantly to the Word and be built up in their faith.
Please pray for:
- The students attending the university in Kingston. Pray that they would be willing and interested in hearing about the Lord Jesus. Tom Sweatman plus Saffron and Tom Smith are starting a ‘Refuel’ meeting for students from 1 October at the Hub. Pray that this would be popular and lead to lively debate and conversations around gospel truths. Please pray too that this would in turn lead to people coming to Christ for the first time, or a deepening of faith for those who already profess to be Christians.
