Give thanks to God for:

• The blessing and gift of technology to proclaim the good news of Easter via Facebook and YouTube, not just to our church family but to those in our community and also further afield.
• Equipping David Tubbs, our music minister, with the necessary experience and understanding to produce our weekly online services. We are thankful for the many hours he has spent producing songs for both kids and adults. Pray that God would continue to sustain him as this period continues.
• The excellent and gospel-centred Sunday school sessions produced by our youth and children’s team each week. We are also thankful for the willingness and enthusiasm of many St Peter’s mums to put online the Friday morning Noah’s Ark playgroup sessions.

Please pray for:

• Us, while saddened to be doing fellowship at a distance with our church family, to remember that nothing separates us from Jesus Christ, our Saviour, friend, brother and Lord. Pray that God will draw near to the lonely and broken-hearted in our church family at this time.
• Our Love Your Neighbour Initiative, where the parish has received flyers offering our support at this time. Pray that people would reach out if in need and we would be able to show them Christ’s love as we offer support to them.
• Those in our church family – and indeed all Christians – working in the NHS to be salt and light, displaying what it looks like to have an unshakable faith and hope in Jesus. We pray that, in the face of sickness and death, many NHS staff and patients would turn to the Lord for comfort and hope.

Give thanks to God for:

• His abundant grace in the midst of difficult and uncertain times.
• An enthusiastic take-up of the opportunities for online discipleship and outreach.
• A renewed dependence on Him in prayer.

Please pray for:

• A renewed humility and reliance on God as we face the challenges of the coming months, and that God would use this time to mould and shape us to be more like Christ.
• Real wisdom to put together our online Sunday services in ways that will best serve the church family as well as reach those who are not yet trusting in Christ.
• An online Christianity Explored course that we plan to start shortly.
• Wisdom to use the next month for training and equipping us in Christian service and ministry.
• Protection for church members working on the frontline for the NHS.

• These words to be true of us: ‘May the Lord make your love increase and overflow for each other and for everyone else … May he strengthen your hearts so that you will be blameless and holy in the presence of our God and Father when our Lord Jesus comes with all his holy ones’ (1 Thessalonians 3:12–13).

Give thanks to God for:

• His extraordinary transforming grace in the lives of some who’ve been with us from the start of the plant and have become Christians here.
• His gift of tech-savvy church members to help us produce engaging media during this pandemic.
• Keeping us in some sense of community, despite the lockdown scattering RSC members all over the country and the world.
• Bringing into contact with our online community a girl who’s exploring Christianity and due to study in Roehampton next year.

Please pray for:

• The impact of the pandemic to not adversely affect ongoing plans with the Co-Mission network to secure a longer term future for RSC.
• A handful at RSC really struggling with their mental health to keep persevering in Christ when joy seems slow in coming.
• Us to find ways to connect digitally with the diaspora of students coming or returning to study in Roehampton next year.

We’re praying and trusting God for:

• At least two adults per month to continue to be added to our launch team.
• Wisdom as we adjust midweek groups and weekend gatherings to being online during the coronavirus.
• A smooth transition as we multiply our midweek community groups.
• The gospel to take root in the hearts of seekers in Queen’s Park as we broadly sow the seed (electronically!).
• The coronavirus not to be an obstacle but rather an opportunity for the establishment and growth of Redeemer Queen’s Park.

Give thanks to God for:

• A wonderful church weekend away just before the lockdown: a really blessed time of unity and encouragement before everything changed!
• God’s help in enabling us to completely reimagine church over the past few weeks and for how well people have embraced that.

Please pray for:

• The Lord to use this time to shape and mature us in Christ. Our main form of discipleship now is our small groups on Zoom – we’re working through Philippians with a talk, discussion and prayer. We’re struck by how everyone’s experience of this time is different but that it is a challenge to all. Pray for the Lord’s protection over us all – mind, body and soul – especially those who are most vulnerable.
• Our Sunday services: these are particularly evangelistic in focus and we’ve been encouraged by new people making contact through them.
• Our corona care team: we’ve dropped a card into every door in our parish offering to do shopping, a friendly chat and prayer. Pray that we can show the love and compassion of Jesus to those in need as well as speak of him.
• Our ‘Furlough Bible School’ which we’ve just set up. Pray that the Lord might use this unique opportunity to grow people on furlough in the knowledge and love of him.

Give thanks to God for:

• His sustaining grace through the pandemic hardships, including general good health and unity.
• Technology output allowing the church to feel together and to be fed spiritually.
• The generosity of many in cooking for those struggling financially or unable to get out.
• A clinging to Christ and a desire to use this time to reach out with the hope we have in Jesus.

Please pray for:

• The eyes of our hearts to be enlightened to know the hope we have been called to in Christ.
• Care for the vulnerable in and around the congregation – especially those who do not have internet access or struggle with mental health.
• A growing ‘mission-minded’ attitude among members, taking the opportunity to reach out via their phones to friends and family.
• The conversion of evangelistic contacts who have seemed increasingly open to spiritual conversations.
