Pray for Co‑Mission

PRAY FOR CO-MISSION RESOURCES TEAM

23 Dec 2020

Please join us in praying for the Co-Mission Resources team that includes the Charity Services team, Events and Media teams. They are employed by Co-Mission to support the Planting and Strengthening teams as well as serve the churches and plants of Co-Mission throughout London.

THANKING GOD FOR

  • The trustees of CMIT (the charity which facilitates the operation of the network) and for their godly oversight and servant-hearted work: Phil Cooper, John Marland, Catrin Lee and Bunmi Balogun.
  • The financial support Co-Mission receives from so many gospel-hearted individuals amongst our churches.
  • An agile team who’ve been able to support online events that have served, encouraged and equipped Co-Mission this year.
  • The Christmas film (The Lonely Dinosaur) being well-received – pray that God would use it to bring many to churches across London and beyond to hear the gospel.

PRAY FOR

  • Pray for the Co-Mission Women's Day on Saturday the 30th of January. For Gabby Samuel as she prepares her talk and that the event would be a valuable and encouraging time for the women of Co-Mission as they look together at God’s word. Would this lead all who attend to trust more fully in God's sovereignty in times of uncertainty and difficulty.
  • That God would provide wisdom to the REVIVE Management Team as they plan and work on the REVIVE event in June 2021.
  • Prayer for clear creative thought, wisdom, and energy to engage and encourage Co-Mission in the coming year – we are, like many a little weary.
  • Pray for the Charity Services Team as we finalise our report following on from the recent Finance & Risk survey & that our feedback will help strengthen and encourage the churches in our network.
  • For inspiration on how to move things forward and outward to share the good news of the gospel, tell the stories of people's lives, and encourage church planting and strengthening through Co-Mission in London

PRAY FOR BECONTREE CHURCH

18 Dec 2020

Please join with us in praying for Becontree Church, led by Rob Newham…

We are delighted that our council has backed (and therefore funded) two drive-in carol services, which will take place at 2 p.m. and 5 p.m. this coming Sunday, 20 December. The combined planning team for these Carols in Cars involves St George’s Dagenham, Dagenham Parish Church (who planted us) and Becontree Church.

Praise God for:

  • Him inspiring encouragement and evangelistic ideas through Faith in Kids.
  • The initial ‘no’ from the security firm who manage the site being overturned by the council. (But we know who really was sovereign here.)
  • This unrestricted opportunity to share the gospel through readings, songs and an evangelistic talk.
  • The capacity being doubled (by the council, not us) to make the event more cost-efficient.
  • The musicians from two churches gelling well, and being coached well by James Williams.

Please pray for:

  • Reece, a local lad, giving his first-ever evangelistic sermons, with the added difficulty of needing to build rapport with windscreens!
  • The Spirit to prepare people, give faith and enter hearts, to bring about new life!
  • The car park to be full. As it has capacity for 250 vehicles, that means over 1000 people could be there. Pray too that everyone can hear and see what’s going on.
  • Shona and Simon to host the meetings in a relaxed and relational way.
  • The follow-up of those who come. Pray for good traffic to a new webpage, which will link people to their local church.

PRAY FOR REDEEMER QUEEN'S PARK

14 Dec 2020

Please join with us in praying for Redeemer Queen’s Park, a new church plant led by Thomas West & Daniel Evans…

Praise God for:

  • His graciousness in giving us 25 launch team members by 1 December.
  • The really nice feedback we are receiving to the Advent devotional guide we created for the community.
  • The additional community group we’ve added through the month of November.
  • The favour he has shown us in getting to a point where we are able to offer ESL classes to the community in January.
  • The 20,000 Gospels of Mark we are in the process of distributing to Queen’s Park residents.

Please pray for:

  • God to enable a healthy transition from being a launch team to church membership through December.
  • Us to be excited by our identity as a church in January as we begin weekly public gatherings. We’re trusting God to make the way smooth.
  • God to bear fruit as the Gospels of Mark are distributed in Queen’s Park through December.
  • God to give us 28 launch team members by 9 January.

We are trusting God for all these things.

PRAY FOR CHRIST CHURCH BALHAM

10 Dec 2020

Please join with us in praying for Christ Church Balham, led by Andy Palmer…

  • Praise God for keeping our church family through many trials and hardships in recent months.
  • Pray for lasting spiritual fruit in the eight people who recently participated in a Christianity Explored course online.
  • Ask God to provide a venue for our Christmas services – our regular one has just fallen through.
  • Pray for all the church to be bold and creative in finding ways to share the gospel this Christmas.

PRAY FOR ST MICHAEL'S FULWELL

07 Dec 2020

Please join with us in praying for St Michael’s Fulwell, led by Ed Kendall…

Give thanks to God for:

  • The Lord sustaining and refining us during these challenging times.
  • A real sense of the wide variety of gifts within the church coming to the fore and enabling church life to continue.
  • Opportunities to connect with others beyond our usual reach, both local and further afield.

We’d love prayer for:

  • Our Christianity Explored course, which is currently underway, to bear gospel fruit.
  • Our Christmas services and initiatives (carol services, open-air carols, doorstep carols and so on).
  • Us to continue to love one another in these restricted times and to do so with energy and creativity.
  • Wisdom as we plan how best to relaunch as we emerge from this pandemic season.

PRAY FOR KING'S CHURCH WALTON

03 Dec 2020

Please join with us in praying for King’s Church Walton, led by Simon Martin…

Give thanks to God for:

  • The encouragement it is to have Pete Matthew now on the staff team. Thanks for the arrival of him and his family, and for a positive settling in period.
  • A great bunch of gifted people who are making ministry happen in difficult times – tech people; musicians; kids’ workers; and those overseeing health and safety issues. Thanks too for people at home still using their gifts to serve where possible – recording readings, prayers and sermons; attending homegroups; and caring and praying for one another.
  • The school we meet in being very helpful in accommodating us back in their building.
  • A couple of new faces at church who are now doing our ‘joining in’ course.

Please pray because we need God’s help:

  • For our Christmas services: pray that God’s name would be honoured in what we do. We’d love to have more ongoing conversations about Jesus with people.
  • To maintain unity while we’re unable to meet. Pray that people would value mid-week groups and attend despite the ‘Zoom fatigue’.
  • To keep growing in our generosity towards one another and our community.
