Save the dates for the Pebble Forum 17-18 May 2023
Godliness and effectiveness are sometimes pitted against one another. But healthy church ministries will be marked by both. Godliness will often require effective stewardship of the resources God has given us to love and reach people as well as possible. We want to be good and faithful servants (Matt. 25). There will need to be a carefulness to the way we devote ourselves to doing what is good (Titus 3:8).
Pebble is a new ministry of Co-Mission designed to encourage church leaders in ministry that is both godly and effective, principled and prudent, servant-hearted and fruitful. The year-round work of Pebble will involve consultancy (church ministry health checks), mentoring (sessions with an experienced leader) and training (a range of short online courses for pastors and leadership teams).
The Pebble Forum – 17-18 May 2023 – is a launch event for Pebble as well as, we pray, a genuinely valuable gathering in its own right for encouraging and equipping church leaders in godly, effective pastoral ministries. It’s a two-day conference happening in two locations simultaneously – East London Tabernacle and Cornerstone Church Liverpool. A fantastic lineup of contributors will include Sam Allberry, Andrew Heard, Richard Coekin, Ray Evans and John Stevens travelling up and down the country to speak at both venues. The format will be around tables with expositions, seminars, TED-style talks, discussions and prayer.
For now, do (a) save the dates, (b) share with others and (c) pray that this fledgling ministry would be a helpful help to Christ’s church and the advancement of his gospel. More details will follow and bookings will open early in the New Year at pebble.training.
